What Is Coaching?

Coaching is a process that unlocks a person’s potential and maximises their performance, by helping them gain greater self-awareness, defining and clarifying goals, achieving their development objectives or simply acting as a sounding board. It typically involves a series of one-to-one sessions. The client provides the objectives of each (a goal aligned to either their personal or professional aspirations) whilst the coach guides the client to an appropriate outcome by asking insightful questions and active listening.

What Coaching Isn’t

  • Counselling or therapy: We do not focus on past traumas or childhood experiences but the ‘here and now’, and what will help you achieve your goals.

  • Mentoring – You will not be given the solutions to your problems. You are the best-placed person to figure out what must change in your life for you to achieve your goals. It’s the coach’s role to help facilitate your journey.

  • A nice chat, to vent or off-load. – Although most describe the coaching process as enjoyable, they are highly focussed, results-driven sessions.

What You Can Expect From Coaching

Coaching aims to bring about sustained change in yourself, enabling you to achieve your goals. We will work together to identify what those goals are or expand and clarify existing goals that you already have. We will explore what they mean to you, what might be holding you back, and how you can achieve them.

Who Can Benefit From Coaching

Coaching is for individuals who are ready and willing to take responsibility for themselves, their careers and their lives. It's for people who dare to dream, and are committed to taking action to make their dreams a reality.

Our Approach

Our coaching programme typically consists of up to 5 x 1 hour sessions. During the initial session, we’ll discuss your personal or professional aspirations and how coaching can help you achieve them. We’ll agree a plan and when we’ll meet. After the 5 sessions, we’ll review progress you’ve made. If you wish we can agree on additional goals and further sessions.

What Is Required Of You?

You must have an open mind and a willingness to challenge what you do. To get the most out of our coaching sessions it’s essential to come prepared; having completed any planned actions and session prework. Taking time before the first session, to complete the coaching forms and fully consider what you want to achieve and why, will allow us to maximise our time together. It would also be greatly appreciated if you could provide as much notice as possible, at least 24 hours, prior to cancellations or rescheduling.
